Jay’s in-depth knowledge of the area allowed us to get to some amazing locations and photograph a variety of different waterfalls. Highly recommend!

Jay was a wonderful host. His patience, knowledge of the landscape, local history and technical aspects of waterfall photography was so impressive. I’d do another of Jay’s courses in a heartbeat.

We enjoyed the great photography tour with you, Jay! You showed us magnificent landscapes of Central Australia and taught us many skills of how to take great pictures! You are an excellent photographer, instructor and tour guide! Thank you so much!

We met Jay in Alice Springs in July and he took us on a journey to Glen Helen Gorge for a night to watch the stars. It was amazing to hear his passion for the area and the night skies in the NT. You need to do a one of Jay’s tours.

The Astro Workshop in Quirindi really did exceed all my expectations. It was professionally well run, with fantastic scenery for both daytime and night time shoots. Both Jay and Luke were very approachable, friendly and informative and the other attendees were one of the best bunch of people Ive met on a workshop. Id certainly look at booking another one with these guys.

In October I was fortunate to attend the Star Trails 101 photograph workshop headed Jay Evens a master in Astro Photography. For those photographers that love the open air, adventure, and extending their photographic skills I highly recommend this workshop.

What a wonderful introduction to learning how to photograph star trails. From the moment I arrived at the studio I felt comfortable and welcomed, this continued throughout the entire workshop. Everything was well organised and prepared from the setup of camp to the actual star trail shooting right through to breakfast. The tutorials on how to process the photographs we took was informative and easy to understand. I would highly recommend this workshop to anyone wanting to learn about star trails! Everything is supplied for you, you only need to take your photographic gear and a sleeping bag, it doesn’t get much better or easier 🙂

The organiser is very knowledgeable about both astro photography, the environment and organised event. The organiser’s passion for photography and environment conservation is channelled throughout the workshop. I will highly recommend this work shop to anyone.

What an amazing experience in such a beautiful location with a great bunch of people! I learnt so much in such a short time, not only about shooting and processing star trails, but also about respecting the environment that we were so privileged to be spending time in. Jay’s knowledge and technical expertise of photography and the night sky combined with his passion for ecotourism is not only outstanding but also infectious! He has such a warm and encouraging style that, being new to this field of photography, I wasn’t afraid to ask the dumb questions! I’ve come away from this workshop with some new skills and a greater appreciation for landscape and astrophotography. Thanks Jay for opening up my eyes!
