It is such a good feeling to see places that have It is such a good feeling to see places that have remained closed for such a long time reopen again for us all to enjoy and photograph. The epic Weeping Rock at the base of Leura Cascades is probably one of the prettiest falls in the Blue Mountains, and has been invariably closed due to hazardous landslides or flooding rains since July 2019. There's been some items on my photography bucket l There's been some items on my photography bucket list for so long, the hunt for the right conditions each year seems never ending, and today, as I headed into the Jamison Valley to seek out bucket list Astro shot number 794, nature presented me with another.... The Ghost fungi (Omphalotus Nidiformis). One of those shots where you;d already given up on One of those shots where you;d already given up on any decent light for sunrise, despite the epic cloud and inversion snaking its way through the valley, and as you put the key in the ignition to head off for the much needed morning coffee, you suddenly find yourself sprinting back, camera in hand, snapping off a few quick shots of the insane rays of sunshine that miraculously appeared.⁠ As restrictions ease, things are beginning to get busy again. This could be us getting back to normal. Watching the mists gently meander through the tree Watching the mists gently meander through the trees at the base of the Grose Valley has always been something I've enjoyed, but seeing the devastation of the fires up close, even from a distance through the @sonyalpha.anz 100-400mm is quite startling. This vast slope of gums just under Lockleys pylon has shown little recovery since January despite the surrounding areas being awash with new growth. Today is World Environment Day, and I couldn't thi Today is World Environment Day, and I couldn't think of a more appropriate shot to post.
